Beyza Nur Özler
"I believe that a home should be a true expression of the soul – a place that tells your story, reflects your style, and creates a connection to the world.
After years of searching, I found in the traditional craftsmanship of Anatolia a depth and meaning that transformed and enriched my life. Wild Heart Free Soul was born from the desire to share these stories and bring the soul of Anatolia to the world.
My goal is for the pieces you find with us to fill your home with beauty and significance. They are meant to create connections and tell a vibrant story – a story that continues with you."
– Beyza Nur Özler, Founder of Wild Heart Free Soul
Our history
Origin and inspiration
Beyza Nur Özler, the founder of Wild Heart Free Soul, comes from a Turkish family who emigrated to southern Germany in the 1970s. From a young age, she was surrounded by textiles in her parents' fashion boutiques and helped in the family business from an early age. Later, she studied textile management and worked in the fashion industry for nearly two decades. However, the fast pace, superficiality, and environmental impact of the fashion industry increasingly led Beyza to distance herself from this world.
A journey back to the roots
The perfect moment for a fresh start came when she became pregnant with her first daughter. This period of change inspired her to begin studying Turkology, allowing her to delve deeper into the history and culture of the Turkic peoples. A trip to the Lycian coast in Kaş, initially planned for two weeks, turned into a two-year stay during which Beyza discovered the world of kilims. This encounter with the textile art of Anatolia opened her heart to the deep meaning and beauty of this traditional craft – the colors, patterns, and stories that live in each kilim.
Our philosophy
The Value of Sustainability
Wild Heart Free Soul is more than just a place to buy kilims, it is a space for connection and cultural exchange. Our showroom in Berlin Mitte and our online shop offer you handpicked kilims, cushions, and textiles that keep the stories of Anatolia alive, crafted in the most sustainable way possible. Authentic kilims are made from sheep wool, a completely natural and renewable material that is not only durable but also carries a beautiful, vibrant texture within.
The Art of Reuse
Refurbishing vintage textiles, as practiced at Wild Heart Free Soul, is at the heart of our sustainability philosophy. By reusing and caring for existing pieces, we draw on resources that already exist without consuming new raw materials or energy. Each piece in our collection is proof that beauty and sustainability can go hand in hand. By restoring and transforming kilims, not only is the original art preserved, but also a respectful approach to the environment is promoted.
Timeless quality and true craftsmanship
Beyza works directly with weavers in Anatolian villages and maintains close relationships with them to preserve the authenticity and value of these handcrafted treasures. She does not abandon damaged carpets either, but breathes new life into them by cleaning them, restoring them or making them into cushions. These pieces bear the traces of their past and the beauty of a sustainably preserved craft.
Our vision
